April showers

If April showers bring May flowers... what do thunderstorms bring?

When I first visited the Seattle area to meet Wes' family the thing that made me fall in love with it was all the trees, the flowers, its mountains, its environment.  It's been almost four years and I just have not gotten used to the rain.

We, however, enjoyed a beautiful Sabbath day with the kids and the family.  Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.  Loving God's creation.  Because it rains so much in Western Washington, we are trying to teach the kids to love the rain as much as the sun, to enjoy the cold the days as much as the warm ones.

Our plan for the weekend was to have a picnic at a park close to Marysville, because we got stock in traffic we changed our plans slightly.  We moved the picnic to the backyard and then we went to the park.  The kids rode their four-wheelers and played in the playground.  Chasing and being chased by other kids.  While the "boys" were watching the kids, Michelle, Fannie, and I went over to the community garden.

As we walked over we stopped at every station to just stare at the beautiful flowers and plants that were growing there.  This community garden was amazing, well what amazed me was the fact that the fruits and veggies growing in this community garden are donated to the local food bank.  I loved that.  People caring for people.

Isn't that what God wants for us? To care for each other? What an awesome act of unselfishness!

Soon, Wes and I headed over to look at the garden.  We talked about how blessed we felt for having the opportunity to enjoy His creation, His love for us, He gave us His only Son, and promised to come back for us.  What a lovely promise that is!

Well, we got a few snapshots of the pretty flowers, we hope you enjoy as much as we did.
